Anzac Day – Lower Hutt Memorial RSA

Along with RSAs throughout New Zealand, the Lower Hutt Memorial RSA marks Anzac Day on 25th April, to commemorate all New Zealanders killed in war and also to honour returned servicemen and women.

The Dawn Service Parade assembles at 5.45am on April 25 outside the Civic Centre and marches to the Cenotaph at the Anzac Lawn, outside the Lower Hutt War Memorial Library.

The Commemorative Service starts at 6.00am. The Dawn Service is followed by a traditional cooked “Gunfire Breakfast” back at the clubrooms.

There are other services for members to attend in Lower Hutt, Petone, Eastbourne, Wainuiomata, Taita and the Stokes Valley. Civic Services are also held in Lower Hutt, and the Lower Hutt Memorial RSA Service is held in the Atrium of the Petone Workingmen’s Club at 11.30am followed by a cooked lunch and an afternoon of socialising and professional entertainment in the Club Lounge.
